An Amazing Scene From Editing Class
Deas: Oh, Mr. Rosenthal, I saw your story yesterday and it was - good work.
Me: Oh, thank you.
(Deas gives me a ridiculously hard high five, hurting my hand)
Me: It's all due to you Mr. Deas.
(Deas laughs heartily)
Deas: By the way, I urge you all to work for the Daily. I very rarely recommend campus newspapers. But I urge you to work for the Daily.
Deas: How many of you are working for the Daily?
(Some students raise their hands)
Deas: Those of you who aren't, I urge you to. It's good to get your feet wet.
Hunter Atkins: What about the other one? Where's the love for NBN?
Deas: Um, I've checked that out as well. That's fine. But, the Daily Northwestern.
(Noisy chatter from class)
...
Deas: I think I'm starting a debate here.
Jonathan Love: Yeah, this is about the time to transfer from the great debate to the great InDesign lesson.
